![]() Brickendon Estate is one of Tasmania's oldest properties, settled and built by William Archer from a land grant in the 1820's and it still remains in the Archer family today. Brickendon was built by hand using pit sawn timber and bricks fired on the property. About 3 km north of the village of Nile is 'Clarendon' House, built by the wealthy grazier and merchant James Cox in 1836, a National Trust residence which is open daily between 10.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. (it closes at 4.00 p.m. in winter). Travel up the Liffey Valley and visit the Liffey Falls Reserve. Walk down hill through the rain forest to the falls and walk down the riverbank to be collected at the lower car park. |
